Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 23, 2026

Beacon Directories, LLC respects your privacy. This policy describes how information is handled when you visit beacondirectories.com, including when you create an account and manage a business listing through our owner portal.

1. Who We Are

Beacon Directories, LLC operates a network of online directories and informational websites. This privacy policy covers beacondirectories.com, including the business owner portal hosted there. Individual sites in the Beacon Directories network maintain their own privacy policies.

2. Information We Collect

Information collected automatically

When you visit this site, our hosting provider and analytics service may collect standard technical information, including your IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, referring URL, and timestamps. We use a self-hosted instance of Umami Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track visitors across sites. Umami records individual page views (URL, referrer, browser, device type, and country) on infrastructure we control; this data is reported to us in aggregate, is not shared with advertising networks, and is not used to identify individual visitors.

Forms on this site and on sites in our network may be protected by Google reCAPTCHA v3, which evaluates form submissions for automated abuse. When a protected form is submitted, Google receives technical signals about the submission (such as your IP address and interaction data) under Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. We also screen submissions ourselves using technical signals such as IP address, user agent, and submission timing, and keep records of that screening.

Information you provide

When you create an account through our owner portal, we collect your name and email address. Account credentials are managed by our authentication provider; we do not store your password.

When you claim or add a business listing, we collect the business and contact details you submit, such as business name, address, phone number, website, and description.

If you contact us by email at any of our published addresses, we receive the content of your message, your email address, and any information you choose to include.

Inquiries submitted on our network sites

This platform processes contact and quote-request forms submitted on directory sites in the Beacon Directories network. When you submit such a form, we receive and store the details you provide (such as your name, email address, phone number, and message) along with technical information about the submission (IP address, browser, and referral source). If the business you asked to contact has claimed its listing, we deliver your inquiry to it directly so it can respond to you; once shared, that business handles your information under its own practices. If the listing is unclaimed, we notify the business that an inquiry is waiting and release your details once it verifies the listing is theirs; some inquiries may go undelivered if a business never claims its listing. Each network site's privacy policy describes this in detail.

We use approximate location (the country reported in request headers) to restrict parts of the service to the United States; this country signal is checked at request time and is not stored.

Communication records

We keep internal records of the emails we send through the platform (including their content, recipient, and delivery status) for deliverability auditing, abuse prevention, and customer support, and records of replies we receive. Our systems may read replies to emails we send (via our email provider's API) to detect responses, bounces, and opt-outs.

Emails we send may contain tracked links. When you click one, we record the time of the click, your browser type, and which email and campaign the link came from, and the destination address may carry campaign identifiers so we can attribute your visit. We use this to measure whether our emails are useful; it is not shared with advertising networks.

Payment information

If you purchase a paid listing or subscription, payment is processed by our payment provider, Stripe. We do not collect or store your full card number. We receive limited billing details, such as your subscription status and the last four digits of your card.

3. How We Use Information

  • To operate, maintain, and secure the website
  • To create and manage your account and authenticate access to the owner portal
  • To publish and manage the business listings you claim or add
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions for paid listings
  • To send transactional email, such as account, listing, and billing notifications
  • To notify business owners when someone submits an inquiry about their listing, and to send listing performance reports (with the ability to opt out)
  • To contact businesses about their directory listings, for example to let an unclaimed business know an inquiry is waiting. We use contact details that are publicly available or on file for the listing, and every such email includes a working one-click unsubscribe; opt-outs are honored permanently
  • To screen form submissions for spam and abuse
  • To understand how visitors use the site through aggregate analytics
  • To respond to emails and inquiries sent to us
  • To comply with applicable legal obligations

4. How We Share Information

With service providers

We use the following third-party services to operate this website:

  • Vercel: Website hosting and content delivery (request logs may include IP addresses and form submissions) (Privacy Policy)
  • Supabase: Database hosting and storage of account, listing, inquiry, and communication data (Privacy Policy)
  • Clerk: Account authentication and user management (Privacy Policy)
  • Stripe: Payment and subscription processing (Privacy Policy)
  • Google: Email delivery and reply detection (Gmail — our systems send email and read replies to those emails on our behalf) and form spam protection (reCAPTCHA v3) (Privacy Policy)

For legal reasons

We may disclose information when required by law, in response to lawful requests from public authorities, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Beacon Directories, our users, or others.

In business transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information associated with this site may be transferred as part of that transaction.

With business owners

We share aggregated page-view statistics for a listing with the business that owns that listing. These aggregates do not identify individual visitors.

We do not sell personal information.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

This site uses minimal cookies. Umami Analytics is cookieless and does not set any tracking cookies. Our authentication provider (Clerk) sets first-party cookies that are required to keep you signed in to the owner portal. Any other functional cookies used for site preferences are first-party only and do not track visitors across sites.

6. Data Retention

  • Server logs: Retained by our hosting provider per its standard retention schedule
  • Account and listing data: Retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, or until you request deletion
  • Inquiries and leads: Retained as business records while the related listing and site are operated. Technical details captured with an inquiry (IP address and browser signature) are removed after approximately 18 months
  • Communication records: Records of emails sent and received through the platform are retained as business records for auditing and support. The full body text of sent emails is removed after approximately 18 months; delivery metadata (recipient, subject, status, dates) is retained
  • Spam-screening records: Technical signals used to screen submissions (including IP addresses and blocked senders) are retained for abuse prevention
  • Opt-out records: Unsubscribe and suppression records are retained indefinitely so that opt-outs keep working
  • Analytics data: Retained on our self-hosted analytics instance

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise any privacy right, email office@beacondirectories.com. Deletion requests are processed manually; we will confirm completion. When we honor a deletion request, we remove the information that identifies you (such as name, contact details, and message content) while retaining de-identified business records (such as the fact and date of an inquiry) and records we are required or permitted to keep — billing records, opt-out suppressions, and security and audit logs.

California residents: to the extent the CCPA/CPRA applies to us, California residents have specific rights under it, including the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, the right to correct, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect information. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16 years of age.

10. Third-Party Links

This site contains links to other sites in the Beacon Directories network and to external third-party websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any linked site. Each site in the Beacon Directories network maintains its own privacy policy.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
